Elizabeth was first introduced to yoga in 2002

by a dear neighbor and friend who took her to

yoga classes at the Hindu Temple and Cultural Center of Birmingham, AL. The two-hour hatha yoga classes (that always ended with some laughter) opened Elizabeth’s eyes to the infinite freedom and joy one can experience in the practice of yoga and meditation. Over time, she realized that yoga was creating a more positive and loving mind-set that richly influenced not only her relationship with herself but also her relationship with her husband and children.

In 2004 Elizabeth began the YogaFit™ Yoga Teacher Training program at New York Sports Club in Manhattan, NY, and she ultimately completed the Level 3 YogaFit™ training. After teaching yoga and continuing to raise her four children, in 2008 Elizabeth completed the 200-hr Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training at Prancing Peacock Yoga Studio in Yardley, PA. After completion of this program, Elizabeth went back to school and earned her Master of Science degree in biology from Villanova University (she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2001).

Elizabeth’s studies in yoga, meditation, and the ancient tradition of the Himalayan Masters was profoundly deepened when she met her current teacher, Yogarupa Rod Stryker, in 2012. She was initiated in the Sri Vidya lineage in 2014 and continues to study with Yogarupa and his teacher, Pandit Rajmani Tigunait. Elizabeth is a certified Four Desires teacher as well as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant. She currently offers private lifestyle consultations, Four Desires immersions, workshops, retreats, and an ongoing 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training program registered with Yoga Alliance.
